韩愈《幽兰操》

兰之猗猗, 扬扬其香.
The orchid is flourishing, its fragrance spreads.

不采而佩, 于兰何伤?
If no one plucks one to wear it, how could that harm the orchid!

今天之旋, 其曷为然.
My coming back today, who caused it?

我行四方, 以日以年.
I have been traveling everywhere, for years on end.

雪霜贸贸, 荠麦之茂.
The luxuriance of the frost and snow (will bring) luxuriant crops (in spring).

子如不伤, 我不尔觏.
If you are not sad, I will not come to see you.

荠麦之茂, 荠麦之有.
Luxuriant crops (mean) a good harvest

君子之伤, 君子之守.
Although a gentleman may be sad, he keeps proper conduct.
